Pottery Nook is a studio notebook for potters, made by Ariane Medina. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and how you can ask to change or delete it. It applies to the Pottery Nook iOS and Android app and these website pages.
Who we are
Pottery Nook is operated by Ariane Medina, based The Netherlands. For privacy requests, email potterynooknane@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account. Email, name, and sign-in data (including Google sign-in if you use it). Optional profile fields: studio name, location, bio, avatar, and cover photo.
- Studio content you enter. Pieces, kiln logs, glazes, recipes, journal notes, photos you upload, and related settings. This lives on your device and, when you are signed in, syncs to our servers so you can use more than one device.
- Community content you share. Posts, photos, comments, challenge entries, and reports you send. Other people may see what you choose to make public.
- Usage (optional). Analytics and crash reports if you leave that on in Privacy Settings. You can turn it off. We use this to fix bugs and understand what is confusing, not to sell ads.
- Device. Push notification token and basic app/OS info, so kiln and reminder notifications can reach you.
- Purchases. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat handle payment. We receive whether Pottery Nook Pro is active. We do not see your full card number.
How we use it
We use this data to run the app: sync your studio, show community posts, send the notifications you asked for, process reports and blocks, and unlock Pro features you paid for. We do not sell your personal data.
Who processes it for us
- Our API host (currently Render) and database (Supabase) to store accounts and studio data.
- SuperTokens for sign-in sessions.
- RevenueCat plus Apple App Store / Google Play for subscriptions.
- Cloud file storage for photos you upload.
- PostHog for analytics, only if you keep analytics on.
Photos and cloud backup
You can use Pottery Nook with pieces, kiln logs, and glazes on your device without paying. Signed-in text sync is included. Cloud photo backup is limited on the free plan (500 MB total, and 1 cloud-backed photo per piece). Pottery Nook Pro removes that cap. Photos you upload are stored so we can show them back to you and, if you share a post, to other users.
Community, reports, and blocks
If you use Community, other potters can see the posts and profile information you share. You can report content and block another potter. We keep reports so we can review them. Blocking hides that person’s posts from you, and yours from them.
Your rights
- Change your profile and privacy toggles in the app (public profile, analytics).
- Export studio data from Privacy Settings if you have Pottery Nook Pro.
- Delete your account in Settings. Deletion is scheduled first. You have 30 days to restore it by signing back in. After that we permanently delete your account and studio data we control, except what we must keep for law, abuse records, or backups that roll off on their own schedule.
- Email us to access or correct data if you cannot do it in the app.
Children
Pottery Nook is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and studio data while the account is active. After the 30-day deletion window, we delete it from live systems. Backups may linger for a short period, then expire. Purchase records may be kept as the stores require.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date above and, when we can, note it in the app.
